The Cardiff University Real Ale & Cider Society announces that its 11th annual Real Ale & Cider Festival will take place on 27 and 28 February 2008 in the Great Hall of the Cardiff University Students Union. The festival's opening times will be from 1pm to 11pm each day. All members of the NUS, CAMRA, and Welsh Perry & Cider Society are welcome at the door. The price of admission will include a souveni festival glass and program. The festival is currently expected to feature 80 firkins of real ale & lager as well as the biggest cider & perry bar in Wales. We will also feature live music, a pub quiz, snacks, and non-alcoholic options. Admission is £3.50 and includes a souvenir oversized, lined beer glass and a festival programme.
This year, the festival takes place as part of the Cardiff University Students Union's "Go Global!" festival of culture. As in previous years, proceeds from the festival will go to benefit Ty Hafan, the children's hopsice in Wales.
Volunteers from the student body, CAMRA or WPCS are encouraged and will receive bar privileges. Festival setup will begin on Sunday 24 February and
takedown will conclude on the morning of Friday 29 February. If you want to work at the festival, fill in a staffing form (see below) and email it to festival@realales.org.uk as soon as possible.
